What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese form of energy work that cleanses and balances the body's energy system. As a result, the body's natural self-healing mechanisms strengthen, helping to establish optimum health. During a session, we work directly with your energy field to remove blockages, detoxify your system, and restore your vital life force energy. Reiki utilizes a gentle touch to conduct the necessary energy force between us. The benefits of Reiki range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress to alleviating chronic pain.

The word "reiki" comes from the Japanese words rei, meaning universal, and ki, which loosely translates to a flow of lifeforce energy.

Do I have to take off ALL my clothes for my Massage?

No! Our therapists will ask you to remove clothing ONLY as far as you feel comfortable. If you wish to undress to just your underwear, that is perfectly fine.

The therapist will leave the room while you're undressing and will provide towels and blankets to cover you during the massage. There are even some massages that work well if you want to remain fully clothed. You can discuss those options with us when you book.

What if I fall asleep and drool or snore?

When it comes to massage frequently asked questions, this is a common one. It's normal to fall asleep during a massage. You might be feeling stressed and sleep-deprived, so falling asleep is normal once you're in a relaxed state.

There's zero judgment from us if you snore. We're pleased you're relaxed enough to fall asleep, and we won’t mention it.

Drooling is also common, especially if you're on your front. Ask us for a tissue, and we'll be glad to grab one for you.

Sleeping is the best way to heal.

What'll happen at my first massage?

Prior to your first appt, we'll ask you to fill out a brief health history form to let us know about any current concerns or goals that you have that you wish us to help with.

The day of your first appt., you and your therapist will have a brief conversation where they will answer any more questions that you may have. She will then give you privacy to allow you to undress to your comfort level and get onto the massage table- undercover. Once you are ready, She will come back in and proceed with the massage.

Remember, if you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Isn't massage just to help you to relax?

Massage is excellent for relaxation! But it also has many other benefits.

Massage helps with chronic muscle aches and pains. It helps to reduce stress and ease muscle tension. It's also great for improving circulation, alleviating breathing problems, lowering your blood pressure, reducing headaches, improving your daily mobility and wellbeing, along with helping you manage anxiety and depression. Massage also helps to promote good, healthy sleep.

Is Water really important after my session?

Yes!

Drinking water after a massage or Reiki session is extremely important because it helps your body flush out waste products that were released during your massage or Reiki session. Essentially, staying hydrated after a massage or Reiki session enhances the benefits of the treatment by supporting your lymphatic system, which is crucial for muscle recovery and overall well-being.
